charming vintage shops of Breck
January 16, 2015
I just returned from a great weekend in Breckenridge with some of my besties. Such a charming town filled with funky little shops bursting with unique items. While my gf's tore up the slopes I read, walked around, did yoga and got a fab and much-welcomed massage (Oh and they "used me" to reserve the BEST spots for the apres-ski...I gladly obliged :). And although I craved a few more days to exlore I made the best of the time that I had there. TWO of my fave shops were MARIGOLDS farmhouse funk and junk and MAGICAL SCRAPS boutique and studio. They were both filled with hand-made items...many from recycled items creatively re-invented. Bravo to these artist who make the world a more beautiful place while keeping items out of landfills AND to these shop owners for giving them a venue to showcase their work! Enjoy the photos and never stop exploring how you might turn "trash" into treasure.
love the name too!
an old window screen creatively showcasing earrings (like the way the artist uses the tags and scrap fabric/paper to display the earrings)
keychains made from old license plates
old window pane painted w charming scene and used as jewelry display too
ok...i LOVED this and can't wait to try it...old cowboys bots cut down to "shorties" and embellished w an old belt, lace, old jewelry, etc.
recycled cork coasters and wine bottle coasters....we still have lots of corks left from Abs winter art camp so now I know what I will do with some of those. this would make a great hostess gift!
great little boutique w oodles of handmade items...i loaded up on presents (just need to remember where i hid them when the time comes)
was charmed before I even stepped inside
abs was in Peru on her service trip when I took this picture. it's a nod to her and her daddy!
so many great hand-crafted items
i couldn't agree more! our world is perfect bc of GUS!
and this is where the girls eventually found me!! (I WASN'T lost...just homesick!)
